It’s another edition of Apps to Know and this month we have apps to help you pack for your vacation, an easy way to order photos from the drugstore straight from your phone and more.
Starting with some more online storage.
We could all use more storage online for our photos, MP3s and documents. And, while Dropbox is great, you’re limited to two gigabytes unless you pay for an upgrade.
Mediafire is a good alternative. It gives you 50 free gigabytes of space to store stuff. There’s both an Android and iOS version of the app, so you can upload and access your files on the go.
Both apps let you view and organize your files and share with friends through instant links.
Each file can be up to 400 megabytes, with one caveat; Your friends might have to sit through an ad during the download.
Another great way to share photos is Kicksend. Version 3.0 of their iPhone app allows you to print photos and picked them up at a lcoal CVS, Walgreens, Target, or even a store near a family member who lives in another state. Kicksend also creates smart albums based on where and when you took your photos. Kicksend is free on iOS and Android.
A retro game is making a comeback on the mobile platform. Lode runner is remastered with new features and graphics. Dodge enemies, run and jump through 150 levels of gameplay. The new version of the game is available on both Android and iPhone for $2.99.
If you enjoy Mad Libs Write it Versus might be worthy download. This free app is the Mad Libs for the 21st century. Players start off with a title and three random words to make a short sentence. Then it’s up to your friend(s) to do the same. The faster and better you write the more points you earn.
Finally, pack smarter for your next trip with Stow. This app generates custom lists of what you’ll need based on the number of day and travelers for the trip. You can even check the weather for your travel dates.
Stow is $1.99 on the iPhone–much cheaper than pretty much anything else you’ll buy on your trip.
